FAQs to Big Sky Awards

What are the preferred logo formats?

Please send the logo as an attachment to an email  The quality of the engraved award logo is directly related to the artwork you supply us.  We work in a PC environment so please save the logo in a compatible format.  Acceptable formats are Corel X3 or below .cdr(changing fonts to curves), Illustrator CS2 or below .ai(converting fonts to outlines) or a .EPS vector file; all in black and white.

Can logo's and artwork be submitted in other formats?

Yes, black and white 300 DPI .tiff, .jpg and .pdf files that are at least 2" square should work, we will let you know if there is a problem.  We can sometimes clean up the artwork for you but we do charge $60.00 an hour with a $15.00 minimum, we will notify you if your file needs to be cleaned up.

What formats won't work?

Images that have shading or grayscale to it, photocopies, faxes, business cards and matchbook covers will not work.  We cannot use an image that is embedded in a Word document although you can send us the verbiage in Word.  We cannot work with Word Perfect, Publisher or Powerpoint files.

How will the awards be shipped?

We ship with the package fully insured via FedEx or UPS only.  We normally ship FedEx 3 Day but can ship it faster or slower if you so choose.  We can use your FedEx or UPS account number if you wish, just give us the account number when ordering.

How are the awards shipped and what will the shipping cost?

Unless you request faster service, all awards are shipped via Federal Express 3 day, FOB Montana.  There is no markup on freight.   We charge actual freight costs so we will not know actual shipping costs until the awards are packaged for shipment.  If you wish us to use your FedEx or UPS shipping number for your award order, please make sure you state that on the award order form.  We will gladly ship to individual recognition award winners for you but we will need to charge a $5.00 handling and boxing fee per box. We do not charge this fee when the awards are all going to one address.  We can no longer ship outside the USA due to the amount of time required to process the International paperwork.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover credit cards.  We don't charge your card until the awards are ready to ship with the exception of extremely large orders (over $1,500.00) where we might charge 50% at the time of the order.  If the credit card billing address being used is different than where the awards are being shipped we now require a "credit card authorization" filled out and faxed to us prior to shipment.  On occasion we will accept a Purchase Order from repeat customers but we would need to read the PO prior to accepting one and payments must be made according to our terms or we will require prepayment .

What is the normal production time?

For most orders we can ship between 5 to 7 business days from the date the order is received and the artwork is approved.  Actual shipping time to you is not included in the above.  There are certain items on the web page that take longer and they are clearly marked.  Large orders or custom made pieces will take longer, call us (1.888.265.6798) for lead times. Also, priority orders are sometime accepted for a surcharge

Are tracking numbers supplied on shipped orders?

Yes, when the awards are shipped, you will receive tracking information from the carrier.

Are proofs sent prior to engraving and what is the cost?

If you would like to have a proof, please state that in the comment section of the order form.  We supply one original plus one change with the price of the award.  Any further changes will cost $10.00 per required proof.

Are stated sizes and weights exact?

No, since the majority of the awards are made by hand there will be some slight variations in the size and weights.

Can orders be canceled?

Award orders canceled after placement are subject to a 25% cancellation fee if we are notified prior to engraving.  If canceled after we have engraved the award(s) you are responsible for the full amount of the order.
